TOMB OF TASKMAKER VERSION HISTORY For Public Release It is recommended that all users retain v1.0 in case the untested alpha version contains a critical bug. ------ CHANGES FROM v1.0 TO v1.0.1a3 Monday, July 14, 2008 (unfinished and untested) GENERAL * Joan Haller's dungeons and companions join the adventure! Travel to far west Outer Terra to find Paradise Keys and the Rose Pyramid. * Killing an Angel now sends the player to Hell. * Going to Hell (or dying there) now restores the player's food to full, so the player won't get stuck in a cycle of starving to death. Thanks to Pete Weigand. * The Falling Wall scroll could previously be used in a way that messed up the order of the adventure. That opening has now been closed. * To avoid overuse, ethereal potions are now 10 times as expensive. * A renamed Gamble spell has been added to the Other Spells To Invoke, however the odds are slightly in the house's favor. By request of Richard Mitchell. * Apparently there's a bug which can sometimes leave an unregistered player stranded in lower Outer Terra. Although the bug hasn't been caught, an exit on the far west side has been added so that the player can get back to upper Outer Terra. * Killing only one good guy resulted in an alignment of "Possibly Huh?", instead of "Possibly Evil". * Intervention wishing can now wish for task objects. * The Ring of Constriction bug is now fixed (although saving, closing, and reopening the player always removed cursed items). TEXT AND WORDING * East and West were reversed on the compass. Whoops! Thanks to David Shulman. * At the end of the last task, fleet footed adventurers encountered a messenger who had nothing to say about how to finish the game. The messenger now expresses a final solution. Thanks again to David Shulman. * Many adventurers have unwittingly become deaf by wearing Rock bands. To make the pun a little less subtle, "Rock bands" have been renamed "Hard rock bands". * Deafness, blindness, drunkenness, or repulsiveness can cause a message warning the player that they are not suitable to receive visitors on the Seat of Leadership. The updated message offers advice on correcting the conditions. * In the Wheatback Clue, the word "then" should have been "than". Thanks to Bo Lindbergh. * In Grayclay, a Magic Mouth correctly used the word "past", however substituting the word "beyond" avoids the issue altogether. Thanks to Jennifer Dyer. * In Grayclay, the description referred to Knolls instead of Knells. Thanks to Flamedrake. * Tubors is now spelled tubers (when referring to vegetables like potatoes) in Tubor's description. * In one message, there were two spaces between the words "dried bones". * The order form had an uppercase letter "o" in the word "of" of "Tomb of TaskMaker". ------ ORIGINAL RELEASE v1.0 Wednesday, April 9, 1997?
